First Look: Kith Bring the Summer Heat to New Balance’s 204L

First teased in an in-house 'Mushroom' colourway, the 204L debuted last week as a sleek, low-profile sneaker with a flat sole, reminiscent of the RC42 and 530 SL. Constructed with a layered suede upper, prominent 'N' logo and vintage-style tongue tag, the Kith colab is fronted by a silver mesh upper with synthetic overlays in various shades. Co-branding appears on the lateral heels and insoles, while the the rest of the kick lands on a cream midsole and a black rubber outsole.
The 204L couldn't have landed at a better time. Right now brands are focusing on less bulky and more grounded models, in keeping with the current landscape. The Swoosh have with the Total 90 III, an off-pitch athletic model reborn as a lifestyle favourite, while adidas have been leading the charge for two years with the .
