Feel the Breeze: Kith Slip Into the Future With adidas Climacool

Originally launched in the early 2000s, technology was billed as a way for athletes and sneakerheads to ‘Feel the Breeze’. Featuring breathable mesh in the uppers alongside vents in the midsoles and outsoles, the Y2K tech also found its way to The Three Stripes' broader catalogue – apparel like t-shirts, shorts and training gear – where it was praised for its athlete-tier temperature regulation.

This year, adidas gave the Climacool technology a breath of fresh air (get it?) by harnessing the power of 3D printing, unveiling a lattice-like slip-on by sneaker photographer Tyler Mansour. While the new model is still in its infancy, it’s safe to say that Team Trefoil will be rolling out the red carpet (read: collaborations) for the new look Climacool over the coming months.

First cab off the rank is frequent adidas collaborator and clout diviner who are leaning into the model’s futuristic vernacular. Highlighting the bold Three Stripes in subdued hues of grey and positioned against a tonal, off-white base, the minimalist edition leans heavily into Kith’s signature premium aesthetic.

Of course, sneakerheads will be well aware that 3D printing has taken the footwear industry by storm in recent years. Popularised by 3D-printing powerhouse Zellerfeld and their collaborations with the likes of Yeezy, Dior, Pharrell and KidSuper, there’s been no shortage of futuristic footwear to whet our appetites.

While the general release of the adidas Climacool is scheduled for May 2, 2025 through the adidas Confirmed app and select retailers, the specific launch details for the Kith collaboration remain unannounced. As always, keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
