The Air Jordan 12 ‘Melo’ Returns After Two Decades

AIR JORDAN 12 'MELO' HERO

Originally released in 2004, the 'Melo' carries the same legacy and flair as the player who made it famous. Worn by former NBA star during his rookie season, the bold coluorway quickly became tied to his rise. After a standout college run at Syracuse, Anthony entered the league with a Nike deal that soon evolved into something bigger: becoming the first signature athlete under the Jay.

Though Anthony would go on to launch a full series of flagship models, the titular AJ12 took on a life of its own, forever linked to the King of NYC's early dominance and star power. Now, two decades on, the story continues. After first surfacing last year, an official look at the revived silhouette has been released, once again celebrating one of the greatest scorers the game of basketball has ever seen.

Built in the spirit of its predecessor, the 2025 iteration returns with a premium white leather build, complete with quilted textures and panelling throughout. Hits of 'University Blue' land on the outsole, heel tab, inner lining and tongue logo – bringing that same sharp contrast that made the original stand out. Metallic silver hardware rounds things out, keeping the kick polished while staying true to the OG blueprint.

Coming in full size run, the Air Jordan 12 'Melo' will release on May 17 via SNKRS and select Jordan Brand stockists. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for a chance to secure!
