Minimalist Midrange: Fear of God’s Basketball II ‘Ash Pearl’
Jerry Lorenzo and Fear of God Athletics have been preaching the gospel of minimalist hoops style ever since the line’s inception – and in 2025, the mission continues. Beyond sneakers, the label have taken a swing at collegiate sportswear, crafting bespoke uniforms for NCAA heavyweights like Indiana, Kansas, and Miami. But just because Lorenzo’s been busy in the locker room, doesn’t mean he’s left the hardwood behind.
Now, Fear of God and adidas are back with a crisp new chapter: the Basketball II in a tonal ‘Ash Pearl’. Dropping June 6, the release features both mid and high silhouettes, priced at $180 and $200 respectively. Both pairs keep things clean and considered, with mesh and suede uppers dialled in with the kind of stripped-back precision that’s become synonymous with the broader Fear of God aesthetic. The high model also adds an ankle strap for lockdown lovers and heritage hoopers alike.
Under the hood, adidas tech handles business. A Lightstrike midsole keeps things featherweight, while the TPU shank adds structure and snap. A translucent rubber outsole seals the deal. Branding stays whisper-quiet as per usual – just a muted Three Stripes on the toe and tonal Fear of God logo at the heel.
The Basketball II will release via the adidas CONFIRMED app, Fear of God’s site, and select retailers.
