The ASICS GEL-KAYANO 32 Has Arrived

When it comes to running franchises, there aren’t many that shine as bright as the legacy of the KAYANO line. The jewel in ASICS' crown, KAYANO has been a household name in running circles since launch in 1993. Now, hot out of Kobe, Japan, is the 32nd iteration – and there are plenty of upgrades that champion the ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’ mantra of ASICS.

Starting from the bottom, ASICS have redesigned the midsole, now boasting updated FF BLAST PLUS cushioning and an additional 2mm of foam stack. Alongside all that cushiness is the 4D GUIDANCE SYSTEM along the medial, which was developed through extensive research and testing. It wouldn’t be a KAYANO without GEL, but the legacy tech is no longer visible and instead takes the form of PureGEL, which allows for maximum shock absorption. The outsole also dons the HYBRID ASICSGRIP, which Sam Hopper, ASICS’ running expert, confirms is the same build used for their trail-running shoes.

The KAYANO 32’s upper has also gone through a subtle redesign, with a new reinforced tongue wing that adds additional support on the medial side. The rest of the top half boasts tried and true engineered mesh.
