It’s a good time to be an NMD fan. A strong alternative to the ‘Pitch Black’ NMD_R1s look to be releasing in August, and now a ‘Red Apple 2.0’ has surfaced. Released in 2016, the first ‘Red Apple’ was limited to 200 individually numbered pairs; to cop a pair today you'd need to part with roughly two months’ rent. However, new product shots from adidas suggest they're dropping the next best thing.
The new NMD wears the same fire-red Primeknit speckled with black throughout. The build is barely distinguishable from the OG; however, it swaps around some key colours, most notably on the shanks and Three Stripe branding, and doesn’t come with the same heel counter or 3M laces. These are small details, though, when you’re paying a fraction of the original colourway's price.
The new NMD_R1 Primeknit doesn’t have an official release date. Stay with us and we’ll let you know as soon as adidas weigh in with info.
