The Dame X Drops the Price, Not the Heat
Damian Lillard is keeping his foot on the gas. July marked the official debut of the adidas Dame X, a milestone 10th silhouette that proved signature heat doesn’t have to break triple digits. Priced at just $95, the Dame X planted a flag as the first adidas Basketball sig shoe to dip under $100, while still stacking pro-level tech: Lightstrike cushioning for lightweight pop, a stretch-woven upper for lockdown and breathability, and a generative outsole that digs into the floor like Dame’s step-back dagger.
The launch lineup dropped with a quartet of heavy hitters: the neon-splashed ‘Lime Burst’, the stealthy ‘Brookfield’, the bold ‘Dolla Red’, and the crisp ‘Zero Metallic’. A grade-school exclusive joined the set, dressing in a fresh black and aqua mix for the next wave of hoopers.
Each colourway riffed on different facets of Lillard’s personality – from hometown homage to his rap persona. Looking ahead, adidas aren’t taking a seat on the bench. Confirmed in the pipeline is the ‘Beam Pink’ edition, a vibrant mix of pinks and blacks that continues the theme of accessible performance with pupil-popping style.

Now, adidas are keeping the stove hot. Hitting shelves September 1, two fresh looks join the family: the retina-searing ‘Electric Pink’ and the stealthy ‘Black Sulfur’. ‘Electric Pink’ doesn’t shy away from the spotlight, splashing neon pink across the upper like a high-voltage billboard – brash and buzzing with Dame’s fearless energy. ‘Black Sulfur’ plays the opposite role, a stealth assassin that smoulders in muted black tones, cool, quiet and merciless – built for hoopers who prefer their buckets silent but deadly.
Both pairs retail for $95 and will be available via adidas and select retailers worldwide.
