Chris Paul’s Jordan 40 PE Is Too Nice to Stay a Camp Exclusive
Point God Chris Paul has been around the Jordan Brand block more times than most, so when it came time to lace him with a fresh Air Jordan 40 PE, Nike pulled out all the stops – and slapped a giant floral Swoosh across the upper just to make sure you didn’t miss it.
Unveiled during Paul’s Elite Camp in Las Vegas, this bold one-off is the loudest AJ40 we’ve seen yet, with the oversized botanical Swoosh stretching from toe to heel like it owns the joint. It’s a wild twist on the model’s otherwise understated DNA, and a nice reminder that CP3’s still got pull in Beaverton.
Underfoot, the Air Jordan 40 comes stacked with ZoomX foam and a full-length Zoom Strobel, giving it a ride that’s springy and snappy. And if the design feels vaguely familiar, you’re not imagining it – there are subtle nods to the AJ3, 5, 12, 13, 14, 15, and even 18 stitched into the seams.
The Jordan Brand Elite Camp is a proving ground for top-tier high school talent. The camp has long acted as a testbed for future NBA stars, and CP’s PE presents the perfect sneaker for an event that’s all about pushing boundaries and hoop dreams. No word if this flowery flex will ever hit shelves, but one thing’s clear – when Chris Paul gets a PE, it’s never basic.
