Official Images of the Why So Sad? x Nike SB Bruin Mid
Pro skater John Rattray's Why So Sad?, an organisation promoting mental health awareness in skateboarding and beyond, made some noise in the sneaker community a few weeks back with the reveal of an . Now, it's been revealed that WSS and the Swoosh's skate-focused subdivision have more than one co-created sneaker on the way as official images of their have been revealed.
Where the is a somewhat obvious choice for any of collaborative partners, the SB Bruin Mid is much more niche. Some might even confuse it for the on first glimpse! However, it's slightly slimmer and offers a sleeker toebox – plus a construction that's typically split between suede and nubuck instead of the mono-material builds often used on the SB Blazer – making it a low-key, high-top cousin of the popular silhouette.
Why So Sad? have given the onetime basketball shoe a two-tone brown build with sunny yellow laces and a blue Swoosh that wears away to reveal a yellow base with use for a clever nod to shifting moods. Special branded hits and Rattray's familiar bird motifs are spread across the upper as well, appearing on the heel, insoles and inner half of the tongue tag, while traditional gum midsoles and outsoles finalize the look.
A release date for the Why So Sad? x Nike SB Bruin Mid has yet to be revealed, but it'll likely release in tandem with the above-mentioned SB Dunk sometime later this year.
