This heartfelt colab was first revealed via an exclusive preview in of Sneaker Freaker magazine, and is the latest project from Chicago’s very own Joe Freshgoods. A keenly anticipated follow-up to the super popular ‘No Emotions Are Emotions’ project from 2020, this latest collaborative colourway is a deeply personal Joe Freshgoods narrative, inspired by life in the late 90s.
In our exclusive Issue 45 interview, Joe explained, ‘The name is “Outside Clothes”. It’s super deep for certain people. My mom used to tell me, “You smell like outside!” or “Don’t get on the bed with your outside clothes!” That was a thing growing up. I wanted to focus on what city life was like in the late 90s in urban areas.’
Each pair has been made in the USA, and comes dressed in blue mesh with brown suede overlays, plus bright green accents and playful Freshgoods touches. Quirky features include ‘Outside Clothes’ and ‘JFG’ embroidery alongside traditional New Balance branding, and ‘Made for Us’ printed towards the ankle collar.
The wider release is scheduled for September 10, with the retailers listed below ready to be stocked with pairs.
