Wake Up and Smell the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Coffee’
continue to get the grind right with more blends of coffee-inspired sneakers. There was an spotted last week that went for the dark roast with shades of brown suede and a smooth cream finish on the midsoles. Today, behold the that goes for a milkier appearance, but still has a kick at the end – a bit like a café latte.
The light-coloured uppers on this AF-1 reveal itself to be made from a combination of brushed suede and twill panels, the latter replacing the usual perforated leather toe box and mid panels. Contrasting brown Swooshes, tongues and heel tabs add some dark pop, which is furthered with accenting stitching and branding. Underfoot, slightly translucent gum rubber midsoles and outsoles have darker brown flecking speckled throughout – a subtle nod to ground coffee.
Similarly to the AM97, there are some obvious nods to the caffeinated beverage. For example, the ‘Roasted by Nike, Inc.’ is pretty clear. There's also the cute picture of a cat sitting in a Nike mug that’s printed on the insoles… behind layers of brown and cream, just like a milky coffee drink. The ‘SP21’ on the heel counter refers to ‘Spring 2021’, which is when these AF-1s will likely hit retail. Stay tuned for the drip.
