Virgil Abloh: Streetwear is ‘Gonna Die’
Are we about to witness the end of the streetwear phenomenon?
Speaking to Dazed and Confused, founder ruminated on the nature of streetwear moving forward in the 2020s.
‘I would say it’s definitely gonna die, you know?’ he said. ‘Like, its time will be up. In my mind, how many more t-shirts can we own, how many more hoodies, how many sneakers?’
Virgil suggested that we will instead move to a more vintage-oriented style that ‘expresses your knowledge and personal style’.
