As an extension of their collaborative  endeavour, and have teamed up to open a new space in Chicago.

The new spot is called the NikeLab Chicago Re-Creation Center c/o Virgil Abloh and is intended 'not only to provide its own jolt of artistic energy, but also to reinforce the role that creative output has in shaping the future.' As such, hand-picked creatives will host workshops and mentorship programs to educate attendees on a variety of disciplines, from design and photography to brand identity and architecture.

According to the Swoosh, the mentorship program will welcome ten local creatives 'for an immersive eight-week experience' that will give them 'the opportunity to advance the skills of their respective practice and engage with complementary areas of expertise. Commencement is marked by the presentation of a final project.' Abloh himself is set to kick things off with a panel discussion highlighting Chicago's cultural impact.

The Re-Creation Center will also highlight Nike's Reuse-a-Shoe initiative while a Nike Grind-constructed community basketball court – designed by Abloh – is slated to open in the city ahead of 2020's NBA All-Star festivities.

The NikeLab Chicago Re-Creation Center c/o Virgil Abloh will be open from May 31 through July 28 at 673 N. Michigan Avenue.
