Vans Slip-On Sales Surge 7,800% After Squid Game

The South Korean survival horror Squid Game has well and truly owned the zeitgeist of late, the blood-soaked spectacle ranking #1 on Netflix in 90 different countries. Squid Game is so popular, in fact, a South Korean Internet provider is suing Netflix to pay for network and maintenance costs!

Squid Game is not only bloating Internet bandwidths and inspiring early Halloween fits either. Hwang Dong-hyuk’s white-knuckle ride has also prompted an eye-watering surge in Vans Slip-On sales, the classic ‘Triple White’ colourway spiking 7,800% since the series premier!

In a bounty sure to resemble the Squid Game gilded piggy bank, Vans will no doubt be pushing hard for an official collaboration with the Netflix series (among plenty of other brands). Here’s hoping the competition stays healthy and doesn’t degenerate into a bloody all-in brawl reminiscent of the show!
