Vanessa Bryant Unveils a Diamond-Encrusted Nike Kobe 3 ‘Halo’

Protro ‘Halo’ has with its celestial-white comeback, reworking the 2007–08 MVP-season silhouette with a full-length Zoom Strobel, Cushlon 3.0 midsole, and dialled-up traction.

Now, Vanessa Bryant has pulled the ultimate iridescent flex. On Mamba Day, she revealed a jaw‑dropping, diamond‑encrusted variant of that revered high‑top – taking the ‘Halo’ concept to another luxurious stratosphere entirely. Tiny stones glint across the toe box, tongue, and heel, while the TPU exoskeleton shimmers like a jewellery setting. Even the outsole’s latticework doubles as a tribute, with its geometric cut reflecting the sparkle of a polished gem.

The whole project feels especially fitting given the inspiration – Kobe’s eldest daughter Natalia ‘Diamanté’ Bryant, whose very namesake shines through the diamond motifs laced into the design.

For newer sneakerheads on the block – the Kobe 3 has always been the oddball in the Mamba bloodline. Dropping in 2007, it arrived hot on the heels of Kobe’s MVP campaign and immediately split the crowd. Eric Avar’s design went full future-shock with that rubberised, netted exoskeleton, a look that had more in common with alien carapaces than the sleek lines of the and Performance-wise, though, it was no gimmick – the cage locked in the foot without adding bulk, while the low-profile midsole kept Kobe glued to the hardwood.
