US Open champ Naomi Osaka Set to Sign New Deal With adidas
Less than a week after her maiden grand slam victory, Naomi Osaka is reportedly set to ink a new deal with adidas worth $10 million a year. If it’s true, the deal would be the third most-lucrative in women’s tennis — and would be the most money paid by Team Trefoil to a female tennis player. In conjunction with her $3.8 million winner’s cheque from the US Open, it’s fair to say that things are on the way up for the 20-year-old star.
As previously discussed in our Real Talk section, there’s a distinct lack of signature silhouettes for female sports stars, but will this juicy deal attempt to change that? Only time will tell. One thing’s for sure, we’ll let you know if Osaka gets her very own adi kicks.
