Word has been subtly travelling around the sneakersphere that the retailer was having another crack at a classic silhouette for a few months now. However, the rumours started to really gain traction when leaked pics came through from a credible source and started to become reality after yankeekicks shared their on-foot. Now, industry insider Chris Colgan has shared the closest look we’ve had yet.
The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 1 has been decked out in an ultra-luxe build with heavy hints of vintage. It features an upper created using either cracked leather or suede, with a pre-yellowed midsole, oozing those vintage sneaker vibes. The liner has been quilted, borrowing from their that touched down this year. The highlight comes through in the form of ‘Burgundy Crush’ reptilian skin plastered on the Swoosh and collar. A Ma Maniére made sure to leave their mark on the co-branded tongue and insole, plus the specialised logo on the inner of the ankle flap.
There’s no doubt that the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 1 will be an incredibly hyped drop, you just have to look at the seismic effect that their Air Jordan 3 had earlier this year to witness the retailer’s collaborative cachet. Allegedly, this bad boy is scheduled to appear on shelves at the end of 2021. No official confirmation has come through from the brands as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
