Unearth Usher’s Ultra-Rare Gold Air Jordan 3 Samples
R&B superstar Usher has shown a penchant for wearing Jordans over the span of his musical career, and the Jumpman has occasionally reciprocated this love with some artist exclusives – such as these all-gold Air Jordan 3s, believed to be one of only 10 pairs ever made.
According to current owners englishsole, these AJ3s were made in 2014. The uppers are completely made from very shiny, glistening gold patent leather, which is matched to the painted midsole. It’s not an AJ3 without elephant print, and here the crackly pattern is embossed over the top of the toe cap and heel counter, so it may not be immediately spotted at first sight. Elsewhere, black leather lining makes these Jays extra lux (if the gold already wasn’t baller enough), and custom star embroidery on the tongue replaces the Jumpman. Finishing touches include tonal gold shoelaces, iced out sole, and ‘USHER’ behind the tongues. To quote his hit song, ‘YEAH!’
As for the backstory of the shoes? They were curiously featured in a Honey Nut Cheerios commercial from 2014 worn by the Confessions singer himself, and another pair were spotted on the feet of Kyrie Irving. So, that’s two pairs accounted for – who’s got the other (rumoured) eight?
