UNDERCOVER SS22 Includes Nike Air Force 1 x ACG Air Revaderchi Hybrid

Pioneering Japanese label UNDERCOVER has had a long relationship with Nike via its namesake brand, and also the Gyakusou running capsule. As has been the norm for some years now, there are new collaborative sneakers every season. For SS22, instead of featuring the Swoosh’s latest and greatest tech models, UNDERCOVER have looked back in time and created a new hybrid model. There is no known official name for this silhouette yet, but academic Airheads will recognise this is a fusion of the iconic Air Force 1 and the rugged ACG Air Revaderchi.

One of the first giveaways of this fact is the mid-cut ankle modification to these Uptowns, which have the Revaderchi’s Huarache neoprene bootie grafted on along with the external ankle lockdown strapping that runs into the laces. The second obvious clue is the direct transfer of the OG Revaderchi colourway of light grey and a contrast magenta bootie, plus the requisite speckled midsole. Meanwhile, the other colourways on show are relatively less rugged. White-on-white is an all-time essential treatment for the AF-1, and the other edition sees an all-over graphic print that could also work on a classical painting or banknote. The UNDERCOVER touch is confirmed with a small logo placed on the Revaderchi’s heel counter below the Nike Air logo.

As this colab was sighted in the UNDERCOVER SS22 lookbook, expect them to release at some point during that season.
