Official Images: Union x Air Jordan 2 'Grey Fog'
After a mock-up made the rounds in October, official images of the Union x Air Jordan 2 in 'Grey Fog' have been revealed. Following the 1980/90s-infused ethos of past colabs like the Union x Air Jordan 1 and Union x Air Jordan 4, this new take on Michael Jordan's second signature sneaker offers production sample-inspired detailing and an overarching colour scheme that sort of looks like a Carmelo Anthony PE!
Eponymous tones cover the majority of the upper, and are accented by dashes of blue and cream alike. There's plenty of interesting textures to be had as well, like Air Jordan 13-esque dimples on the collar and a perforated overlay on the midfoot.
The most special piece of this colab, however, is the branded detailing. There's a large co-branded 'sample' tag on the collar to make the shoe look like it's not its own final version, plus a large Air Jordan 4-style tag on the tongue. A small, signature yellow Union fabric tag can also be seen on the eyestays. Colourful laces and insoles, exposed foam tongues and straightforward midsoles complete the look.
Currently no release date has been announced for the Union x Air Jordan 2 'Grey Fog'. However, it'll reportedly hit stockists in the first quarter of 2022 alongside a 'Rattan/Siren Red/Beach/Orange Peel' makeup. Between these and Virgil Abloh's Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low collection (set to release in November 2021), Jordan Brand are pulling out all the stops to bring the AJ 2 back to market in style!
