Iconic Japanese retailer atmos may be one of the most ubiquitous sneaker spots in their homeland, but they’ve also made huge strides to expand globally in recent years. Adding to their only New York City location, atmos have announced a merger with Stateside retailer UBIQ – both boutiques joining forces to form atmos USA.

The new partnership comes off the back of a long-standing friendship between atmos founder Hommyo Hidefumi and UBIQ founder John Lee. Sharing a love of sneakers and vintage clothing, the two originally worked together on another retail venture – Chapter World – before moving on to start their own respective boutiques. While the pair are yet to fully lift the lid on future plans for atmos USA, you can expect a new-and-improved e-commerce platform, as well as plenty of collaborative projects, the first of which is a new PUMA Suede.

The collaboration shares similarities to UBIQ’s past Vans creations, with a heavy Asian influence. Dubbed the ‘Three Tides Tattoo’, the sneaker is decorated with see-through logos subtly layered atop the upper. Additionally, there’s eye-catching artwork displayed across the sides, while black suede hits on the toe, laces, and heel tab.

You can cop it now via atmos USA’s new webstore. Look forward to more new stores, projects, and activations in the coming months!
