Update January 10: Last week a run of images surfaced showcasing Nike and Tom Sachs' NikeCraft 'General Purpose Shoe' that's allegedly releasing later this year. A fresh new batch of pics has just landed courtesy of @die_sel666. Peep the details above and stay locked for updates.

Tom Sachs' footwear collaborations with Nike through the two's NikeCraft imprint are usually wild and whimsical — bricolage homages to outer space that are just as much about process (and people) as they are product. Since 2012, this freewheeling, fun-loving ethos has provided classics like the Mars Yard and Mars Yard 2.0, striking styles like the Mars Yard Overshoe, and a heap of unreleased prototypes that range from the Mars Yard 2.5 to custom sandals. Now, Sachs and the Swoosh are starting their second decade of collaboration with a simple-by-comparison silhouette tentatively dubbed the 'General Purpose Shoe'.

A heavy portion of Killshot seasoned with a dash of Waffle One, the 'General Purpose Shoe' indeed appears to be a fitting choice for daily wear. Cream, white and bone meshes, synthetic materials and suedes appear on the upper, sitting atop a gum midsole and classic waffle outsole. Where the real flourishes come in are in and around the collar, thanks to a jumbo blue heel tab, a tongue tag with Sachs' NikeCraft graphics on its inner half (this is where the 'General Purpose Shoe' moniker comes from) and a NikeCraft embellishment on the blue insole.

Take a look at Sachs' latest above, and keep it locked for word on a release date – we haven't gotten an announcement from Sachs or the Swoosh yet, but we'll likely see the 'General Purpose Shoe' later this year!
