Sneaker culture and hip hop often pair hand in hand. So it fits like a fresh pair of kicks that this year's seen no shortage of footwear celebrations of the culture's 50th anniversary. PUMA are a brand that share DNA with hip hop, with the PUMA Clyde being the weapon of choice for countless 70s and 80s B-boys/B-girls, emcees, DJs, and graffiti writers.

To mark hip hop's half a century, PUMA have linked up with Tokyo’s EMISSION for one of the brand's other iconic silhouettes. Together the duo's created the Speedcat 'Spark B-Boy' collection, celebrating hip hop's journey from block party invention to global force.

In an homage to the godfather of hip hop, DJ Kool Herc, and the culture’s b-boy origins, the forthcoming PUMA Speedcat boasts an all-black upper dressed in premium suede. Sticking to the golden era theme, it's accented in gold or silver bling. Each pair also comes with a boombox shaped tag that matches each colorway’s bejewelled accents.

The EMISSION x PUMA Speedcat ‘Spark B-Boy’ is scheduled for a December 2 release date.
