The Release Of The Nike Mag Has Been Announced
It’s been a long road but after 30 years of speculation and anticipation fans of the Nike Mag will finally be able to shout ‘Power laces, all right!’
A recent tweet from Nike directed at Michael J Fox saying that they were excited for tomorrow set the internet alight with rumours of a Nike Mag release and Beaverton have now confirmed that the they will make its way into fans’ hands on October 4. The official news came via a short clip on SNKRS, captioned ’10.04.2016’, that shows the Mag with a lighting heel and – for the first time – power laces.

Given the profile of the Mag and its function as a fund raiser for the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinsons, it’s highly likely this won’t be a usual release. The Mag released in 2011 was an eBay auction that raised nearly $10M, and it’s being reported that the 2016 Mag will be won by lottery. You’ll be able to enter the lottery via making a donation, which Nike has indicated will be made via downloading their Nike + app.
