The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature Merges Sustainability with Performance
Nike have officially unveiled their latest fusion of sustainability and performance: the Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature. Describing it as their ‘most sustainably-minded performance shoe to date’, Nike say the model is part of their Move to Zero initiative, and joins the brand’s mission to improve athletic pursuit while also making the world a better place to live.
While the ground-breaking Cosmic Unity was impressive for its 25 per cent total recycled content by weight, the Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature has eclipsed that by featuring 50 per cent total recycled content by weight, all without compromising any of its performance capabilities.
Applying those recycling principles to Nike’s fastest marathon shoe, the Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature also opens doors for future projects at Beaverton. According to Nike’s Senior Footwear Product Director for Nike Running, Rachel Bull, ‘The exciting thing about pushing performance and sustainability forward with the Alphafly Next Nature is that we know if we can do it with our most pinnacle performance product, then so much is validated to bring that technology into the rest of the line’.
While release details have not been given yet for the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature, we’ll let you know as soon as a date is announced.
