The Nike Air Max Plus Clears Its Cages
Nike aren’t running out of new colourway ideas for the Air Max Plus any time soon, despite the fact the notorious bubble basher has regularly featured in the line-up for over 20 years. The latest variant of the AMP (aka TN) sees its unique TPU upper cages rendered translucent – a notable departure from standard practice.
The upper cage is typically made opaque to reveal its integral purpose, acting as a lightweight and flexible supportive structure. However, this clear version hides that fact, only becoming obvious when observed closely. This allows the other distinct features of the AMP design to shine through.,
These distinct features adhere to the successful formula that’s made the model so well-known: gradient mesh (using what appears to be a different weave than usual) uppers, matching midsole arches, and coloured Air units. The rich shades of blue that vary from pale azure to deep navy are chosen well too, as they loosely resemble some of the AMP’s all-time greatest colourways. Set against crisp white mudguards and midsoles, the result is a clean (and challenge to keep clean too!) take on the popular model.
Keep an eye out at local Nike stockists for fresh delivery of this new Air Max Plus colourway.
