The Nike Air Max 90 Goes ‘Ashen Slate’
Originally releasing in 1990, fan-favourite saw a massive 30th anniversary celebration last year, with a slew of heater combos hitting shelves. We had shape changes, fire GRs, and even the OG making a comeback with its original name: the Air Max III. While we’re now well into 2021, the party is still pumping, and the aesthetically pleasing ‘Ashen Slate’ iteration proves that!
Coming through with a tonal blue mix, it fuses multiple shades together for a pleasing colourway. ‘Pure Platinum’, ‘Beach’ and, of course, ‘Ashen Slate’ make up the combo, delivering something of a gradient effect with lighter hues up top, and darker down below. The usual material mix reaches the upper with the suede, leather and mesh making for a nice trifecta. Completing the look is the matching white midsole and Swoosh, mixed with the off-white pop around the Air unit.
So far, release details haven’t been locked in for the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Ashen Slate’, but we hear it’s going to retail for $140 and arrive within the next few months. Keep an eye on your local sneaker spot!
