The Nike Air Max 90 Expands on the Cork Craze
Last year, celebrated the 30th anniversary of their in a major way, blessing the fan-favourite with a slew of heater combos and spicy hype releases. It doesn’t seem like the party has stopped either, because 2021 has already seen a large amount of crazy kicks, plus some industry gossip that certain are coming back. One trend that seems to be present in a few AM90 drops this year is cork. And, Team Swoosh are looking to continue the cork craze with this next joint in ‘Obsidian’.
The most striking addition to this Air Max 90 is the cork tree that has been embroidered on the tongue, sitting next to a super small Swoosh and ‘Fig 5. Cork’. Most of the shoe has been doused in ‘Obsidian’, which looks a lot like denim, and features contrast stitching throughout. Cork has made its way to this iteration on the Swoosh, with the heel midsole and eyestays also boasting a cork-like look. Adding a touch of colour is the mustard collar.
There’s no word on an exact release date for this Nike Air Max 90 ‘Cork’ just yet, but we hear that it should be arriving at select Swoosh stockists in the coming few months.
