It’s been a couple of years since the Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX entered the Swoosh’s winter assortment in 2019. After a handful of colourways dropped last year, the trend is set to continue with a new batch of releases in 2021. Coming up is this outdoorsy colourway that loosely channels the familiar ‘Escape’ palette of brown and olive.

This earthy combination of colours is consistent with most editions of the AF-1 GTX so far, bar for the neon yellow option from the original 2019 releases. Here, olive leather wraps the toe bumper, eyestays, and heel tab, which is joined by a complementary darker green on the heel counter. The remaining panels are again tightly woven, DWR-treated nylon shaded in tan and white on the toe box and mid panels respectively.

It doesn’t look like Nike have made any changes to the durable construction of their iconic basketball shoe. The GORE-TEX technology lies beneath the surface as a waterproof yet breathable liner, and the tongue’s sides are stitched into the eyestays to form an impermeable gusset. Things are similarly waterproof underfoot because, after all, rubber naturally keeps water out. Check the speckle!

Keep an eye out for the new Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX to hit retailers in coming months.
