The Nike ACG Mountain Fly Low Returns in Vibrant ‘Light Mulberry’
Nike launched the ACG Mountain Fly Low at the beginning of the year as a free-ankled option to its more hardcore and higher-cut sibling. As the Northern Hemisphere enters brighter weather conditions, so do the colourways of the ACG newcomer. One such imminent arrival is this ‘Light Mulberry’ palette that screams 90s neon.
If the intention of the ACG Mountain Fly Low was to be seen, then the ‘Light Mulberry’ achieves it with flying colours. At the same time, the vibrant hue is paired up with ‘Flash Crimson’, which explains the hot pink – almost ‘Infrared’ – shading up top. These highlighter sections also don’t hide the slew of rugged materials in use here, which is heavily comprised of lightweight ripstop nylon and welded reinforced heel and toe bumpers. The sealed-off bootie style fit also adds a considerable degree of resistance to the elements, even if this low-cut version eschews the GORE-TEX liner of the original.
The ACG Mountain Fly Low does retain the same midsole, which hides some impressive features. The sculpted foam is actually Nike React, and inside is hiding a Flyplate for on- and off-road propulsion. Plus, the midsole is paired to an aggressively lugged gum rubber outsole for superior traction.
