The Manchester Bee Buzzes This Honey-Dripping Nike Air Force 1
The city of Manchester is bee-ing (sorry, not sorry) blessed with a delectable Nike Air Force 1 that bears a few nods to the place over 500,000 people call home.
The apoidea mascot, which represents the Mancunian bee-like work ethic, is embroidered onto the lateral heel counter, complemented on the medial side with a stamped honeycomb pattern. This mentality continues on the tongue mesh and lining, which both loosely resemble the hexagonal hive structure that bees tend to occupy. Set on a very tasty honey-coloured nubuck base, alternating grainy leather panels offer some contrast along with the stark white midsole and black Swoosh. And a final nod to Manchester is found on the side of the tongue with a ‘0161’ tag that refers to the city’s dialling code.
