The Bargain Bin: This Month’s Sneaker Steals
Thousands of sneakers hit shelves every day, so it’s inevitable that some will end up in the sale section. And while most of the sneakers in the discount aisle are usually pretty average, sometimes a few absolute heaters slip through the cracks. Which means avid crep consumers get a chance to add some freshness to their rotation without the wallet copping a beating.
With sales sections bursting at the seams, here is Sneaker Freaker’s monthly edition of the Bargain Bin! We’ve curated a neat selection of only the top tier creps on sale in the sneakersphere right now. There’s clean colabs, classics from 1979, and sexy suede-adorned beauties. Cop them all below.
IRAK x adidas ZX8000
In the midst of last year’s crep craziness, adidas brought back their famed A-ZX line – including the comeback of the legendary 2007 IRAK x adidas colab in the form of a ZX 8000. Revisiting the colour scheme, the duo injected the ZX sneaker with water wicking GORE-TEX technology and changed the forefoot text to read 2020 instead of 2007. END. have a ton of sizes available right now with a tidy discount.
HUMAN MADE x adidas Stan Smith
Nigo’s HUMAN MADE have enjoyed plenty of success with their adidas colabs. Throughout the past two years, the duo have reworked a bunch of silhouettes from the Superstar to the Rivalry Low, and they even introduced the Tokio Solar. The highlight though has to be the Stan Smith. SneakersNStuff have the black pair in (almost) a full-size run on sale right now! A clean look, they’ll make the perfect beater.
New Balance 996
Brown is popping right now, and so is New Balance, so the fact that these hit the sales section was surprising to us. This pair belongs to the NB99x series, and sees the 996 rock an aesthetically pleasing combo of browns, with sexy suede uppers. The silhouette is incredibly underrated, and deserves more attention than it gets. Here’s your chance to cop this pair for cheap from Asphaltgold!

Nike Challenger OG
Debuting in 1979, and oozing vintage Nike energy, you can’t fault the Challenger OG. The already-cheap RRP, low-key nature, and the durable suede, mesh and nylon construction make this the ideal everyday beater. Add the fact they’re on sale right now, and you have an almost perfect addition to your rotation.
Brain Dead x Reebok Zig Kinetica II
Talk about underrated! Brand Dead’s recent Reebok colab didn’t receive as much love as it deserved, and we think it’s because it catered to a very niche kind of sneakerhead. While the louder orange colourway seemed to be the favourite, the more subdued black was cast to the side. Now on sale, head to Footshop to scoop this Japanese Kaiju-inspired creation.

Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95
Designer Kim Jones, now at the helm of Dior menswear, has always been closely affiliated with the sneakersphere, delivering his fair share of collaborative projects. Favouring Team Swoosh, one of his latest ventures was on the Air Max 95. The designer stuck to OG colours, but added double-layered lace loops and Nexkin material. They weren’t a sell-out release, so now is the perfect time to cop, as END. have them on sale right now.
