The Air Jordan 4 ‘Tech Grey’ Probably Won’t Be a ‘White Cement’ 2021 Retro

The sneaker rumour mill is a double-edged sword. One edge stokes plenty of chatter among passionate ‘heads about exciting upcoming releases, but the other edge self-inflicts disappointing news when said rumours are unsubstantiated. Such as the initial talk of an Air Jordan 4 ‘White Cement’ retro happening in 2021 under the moniker of ‘Tech Grey’.

New mockups suggest these won’t actually be a reproduction of the other OG AJ4 colourway, the one that famously featured in that scene from Spike Lee joint Do The Right Thing. Besides, with retros having already released in 1999, 2012, and 2016, some new colourways to the roster won’t hurt.

According to the above, this could be a mashup of the ‘Fire Red’ (which is returning next month with Nike Air branding) and ‘White Cement’ OG colourways, but with ‘Tech Grey’ nomenclature. The speckled concrete shade could cover the lace ‘Wings’ and midsole foam, paired to a white leather upper. The namesake ‘Fire Red’ accents would then line the tongue, and appear on the black tongue patch, which would technically be lifted from the ‘Bred’ 4s.

So, back to the double-edged sword analogy. The rumours continue with this new colourway render, but the final product could vary wildly from what’s been seen so far. Time will tell, as it’s quite a while away before these release anyway.
