The Air Jordan 4 (Fore?) 'Bred' Heads to the Golf Course
Golf and basketball might not seem like obvious companions, but in the case of Jordan Brand, Michael Jordan's love of the links – and the golf world's recent push to attract a more diverse fan/player base – have served as the perfect launching ground for golf spike-equipped iterations of everything from the Air Jordan 5 Low and Air Jordan 11 Low to the Air Jordan 4. It's the last model mentioned that's in the spotlight here, as the beloved Air Jordan 4 'Bred' has appeared in a golf-ready makeup.
Revealed by Jordan Brand family member, PGA pro and noted sneaker enthusiast Pat Perez, the 'Bred' offers up all the black, red and grey style that made it famous upon its inaugural release in 1989, but swaps out an OG Nike Air heel graphic in favour of a Jumpman, a detail that likely won't bother duffers as much as it might purist sneaker collectors. Though outsoles retain their standard colour scheme, they're coated with a see-through layer that holds removable golf spikes in place.
According to early reports, the Air Jordan 4 Golf 'Bred' is slated for a December 22 release. Past iterations of the AJ4 Golf have retailed for $220, so this one likely will as well.
