The adidas Yeezy Slide Earns Its Stripes with New 'Ochre' Colourway

adidas Yeezy Slide 'Ochre'

The Yeezy Slide holds a unique place in the Kanye West x adidas lexicon. Sliding in at $60, it's the cheapest piece of Yeezy footwear you can find, it's the Yeezy line's only sandal (the Foam Runner is a clog, not a sandal), it was once referred to as a 'jail slipper' by Snoop Dogg and it even got stuck around a man's ankle in a hilarious Instagram video.

It's done a lot for such a simple foam sandal (never underestimate the power of a West design!) and now it's set to receive its first-ever patterned colourway: 'Ochre.' The first Yeezy Slide to debut since the 'Glow Green' colourway dropped in August, 'Ochre' features a wheat gold colour scheme and a zebra-like striped pattern, with some parts slightly darker than others for contrast.

Besides its pattern, the 'Ochre' is set apart from its counterparts with a new material composition. Past Yeezy slides were made of injected EVA foam, which gave them a smooth appearance. However, the 'Ochre' features a more coarse texture as it's made of new rubberised material. It may not actually be more rugged, but it certainly looks the part.

Expect the adidas Yeezy Slide 'Ochre' to release sometime this December. It'll retain the $60 retail price of previous models.
