The 10 Best-Selling Sneakers of 2021 (So Far) in the USA
The USA’s top-selling sneakers for the first half of 2021 have been revealed, and Nike have dominated the competition, landing the first five spots on the list. In total, the Beaverton brand landed six of the 10 best-sellers, with the Air Force 1 Low coming in first, the Air Max 270 second, and the Air Vapormax Plus, Air Max Excee and Air Max 90 filling the third to fifth places. The Revolution 5 featured seventh on the list. In fact, when you count the Air Jordan 1 Mid landing sixth place, Beaverton have landed the top seven shoes for 2021 (so far).
The first non-Swoosh shoe on the list, as shared by Matt Powell, Vice President and Senior Sports Industry Advisor of NPD, was the adidas NMD_R1 in eighth place.
In a somewhat surprise move, the final two places on the top 10 list were secured by Brooks, with the Ghost 13 and Adrenaline GTS 21. The one third increase in performance running footwear in 2021 landed Brooks the leading position in women’s performance running shoes. Alongside Converse, Vans, and Under Armour, Brooks sales grew by over half. And New Balance also enjoyed growth. This surge in sales is being credited by some observers to the increased desire for consumers to get outside and exercise. And this newfound passion for the outdoors also drove an increase in hiking and walking shoes, with sales up by nearly 50 per cent.
Other considerable mentions are well deserved for Reebok, with a massive sales growth of 75 per cent, and HOKA ONE ONE which grew by about 90 per cent in the first half of 2021. Meanwhile, On tripled their sales performance.
