Take a Look Through the ‘Glass Blue’ Nike Air Max 95
While the year isn’t quite yet over, there has been a conspicuous absence of big Nike Air Max 95 releases in 2020 (ahem, OG ‘Neon’ retro, ahem), with the exception of a collaboration or two. It’s said that ‘absence makes the sneakerhead’s heart grow fonder’, especially when sweet colourways like the ‘Glass Blue’ come few and far between.
At first sight, it appears as a fairly conventionally colour-blocked AM95 with leather and mesh strips. A blend of white, grey and black follows the OG configuration, and the ‘Glass Blue’ placement on the bottom upper strip is fairly standard too. But look at the medial side: it’s a bright shade of ‘Challenger Red’, resulting in interesting asymmetry on each foot, while the full pair maintains a perfect mirror image.
That red hit is also reflected on the lateral heel Swoosh, forefoot outsole accent, and half of the tongue embroidery. Elsewhere, ‘Glass Blue’ highlights the midsole Air units, insole print, and the other half of the tongue label. In keeping with tradition, the heel tab is completely reflective, and it looks like the shoelaces are woven with some shiny thread too.
Stay tuned for the inevitable release of these strongly shaded GR Air Max 95s.
