Update October 20, 2023: A Fresh look at the ultra-limited upcoming Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin Low has arrived. Official confirmation and a release date are yet to be announced. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated.

Skate behemoth Supreme have had another blockbuster year in 2023. Launching new stores in Seoul and Los Angeles, the storied NYC imprint have also been busy on the footwear front, linking up with Nike for a duo of ‘Rammellzee’ SB Dunks, cooking up some more Air Bakins, and linking up with Clarks for another series of Wallabees.

It now looks like Supreme have another Swoosh collaboration on the horizon, this time taking the cult classic Nike Air Darwin and turning it into a skate shoe. A legendary basketball shoe from the 1990s, the silhouette was originally designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by the likes of Dennis Rodman, Chicago’s rebounding bull. Interestingly, the Air Darwin was the first Swoosh silhouette to adopt a reverse Swoosh – a design hallmark that is often attributed to Travis Scott in contemporary sneaker culture.

For their part, Supreme have retooled the Air Darwin with a skate-centric build, providing their own take on the low-top version of the silhouette. Overhauling the classic full-grain leather uppers with a more durable, skate-ready textile composition, the Supreme x Nike Air Darwin also looks like it’s incorporating rope-like laces and pull tabs on the heels.

Rumoured to arrive in a quartet of colourways (‘Black’, ‘Khaki’, ‘Volt’ and ‘Sail’ –pictured here above), the collaboration is also expected to be limited to just 6,500 pairs worldwide.

So far, no release details have been shared, but with the Nike Air Darwin celebrating its 30th birthday in 2024, a launch sometime next year is a safe bet. Make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.

In the meantime, make sure to check out Supreme’s wackiest footwear collaborations.
