Supra's Worldwide West Coast Rap Photo Show
The rise of West Coast hip-hop in the '90s can't be credited to rhymes and beats alone. Imagery played a huge part in creating icons out of rappers like Tupac, Easy-E and Snoop Dogg, and has continued to be vital in mythologising the Golden State's golden era of rap. Although you may not have heard of him, influence can't be underplayed; he was one of the key photographers to capture the biggest stars at the height of their popularity and has shot over 500 album covers. He has buddied up with Supra to showcase a selection of his work around the world at Supra flagship stores. The exhibition is currently open in New York, following a run in Paris, and will travel to California within a few weeks. Supra has released a line of T-shirts and stickers featuring Miller's images and will sell signed copies of Miller's photography book at the exhibition. Network A bring us a video interview with Mike Miller discussing the project, check it out below.
