There have been a decent number of ‘wow’ moments to come from this year’s Paris Fashion Week runways. Most notably, on the footwear front, Ye just unveiled a 3D-printed boot made by Zellerfeld at the YZY Season 9 show.

Also commanding double takes on the runways was the flipper-like footwear seen at the Spring/Summer 2023 BOTTER show, particularly the futuristic takes on the adidas Predator football boot. As part of their ongoing collaboration with adidas, BOTTER tapped experimental footwear designers and consulters Studio Hagel for their unique vision, which saw puddles of resin moulded around the midsoles and outsoles of the shoes – as described by The New York Times.

The shoes are a part of BOTTER’s ‘The Plastic Sea’ collection, which aims to ‘explore the idea of bringing water to the runway’, as stated via the brand’s Instagram. ‘Showing an elongated silhouette that peels off the body like a wet suit would. Shoes that feel like they are floating in tranquil water, moving gracefully.’
