Auction house Sotheby's have gathered some of the world's rarest sneakers in a new 'String Theory' collection that will be sold out of their UK outpost in London. Consisting of items like Kanye West-signed Nike Air Yeezy 2s, Virgil Abloh Air Force 1s, Nike SB Dunk samples and more, the 20-lot collection will likely sit comfortably in the six-digit range once bidding closes.

One of the rarest lots is the Nike 'Black Laser Series' of items made for the late Alexander McQueen in 2004. It consists of a pair of Air Max 90s, an Epic backpack and a Rider Jacket, all made from black suede and featuring an intricate laser-etched pattern. Early estimates place this lot at up to £40,000.

Various lots contain not only coveted sneakers but also the signatures of the people responsible for them. This includes the Air Yeezy 2 'Red October' and Huarache 08 'Glow In The Dark', both signed by Kanye West. A pair of Nike SB Dunk Low 'Pigeon' signed by Jeff Staple is also in the mix. Multiple pairs displaying the distinctive signature of Virgil Abloh make an appearance.

Sample and limited edition collectors will also be keenly bidding on pairs like the SB Dunk 'Heaven's Gate' sample, Dunk 'Splatter' promo sample, plus some BAPE STAs from Nigo's personal stash. Big spenders will be dropping six digits on the complete nine-pair collection of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1.

The 'String Theory' collection can be viewed now on Sotheby's ahead of bidding opening on August 29.
