Nike's iconic Air Force 1 turned 40 this year, so to celebrate its milestone birthday Sotheby's has assembled a '40 for 40' auction of some of the rarest Air Force 1s to ever release. Consisting of 40 ultra-exclusive Forces in total, the lots in the auction range from old-school classics to signed pairs, ultra-premium renditions and more, making for an offering that's pretty much any AF-1 fan's dream lineup!

All 40 pairs in the offerings are worthy of praise, but standouts include a size 12 pair of 'UENO Sakura' samples, complete with a special box, a size 10.5 Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 'University Gold' hand-signed by Virgil Aboh and personalized to NYC sneaker and streetball legend Bobbito Garcia, a size 12 Air Force 1 Questlove Gold Toe with a box signed by the drummer himself and a size 12 Air Force 1 Low Aligator Lux with its matching case. The pair that's sure to cause the biggest stir, however, is a single leftover pair of the Sotheby's-exclusive Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 in size 9, complete with its matching pilot case. That pair alone is expected to realize a sale price of between $80 thousand and $120 thousand, making it the most valuable style on the list by far!

If you're looking to get a bid in for one of these rare pairs, the auction opens on Wednesday, June 8, and closes on Tuesday, June 21. All 40 pairs are available for viewing on the Sotheby's website now, and if you're in New York you can go check 'em out at Sotheby's public galleries from June 8 through June 14.
