Social Status Join the adidas Consortium Ultra4D Colab Party
Simply announced on social media with a brief caption, what can be gleaned so far is the lateral side of the shoes, and the fact they will be limited to a specific figure to 3020 pairs, exclusive to the retailer. And it appears these Consortium-tier colabs offer a bit more creative freedom in the colour and material department as compared to the monochromatic inline releases so far. Here, Social Status mix olive and wheat brown through the Primeknit upper that borrows its pattern from the popular UltraBOOST. Towards the back, terracotta brown-red highlights the ankle collar and heel counter.
There’s also a material deviation at the midfoot. Where Packer put some nubuck on the toe bumper, Social Status have switched the plastic lace cage for a tonal tan suede version, confirming the casual-use intentions of this colab. Underfoot, the increasingly prominent 4D sole is still in its pale green shade, so those looking for new colours will have to wait a bit longer. It’s finished off with a gum-like outsole, which is always nice.
Stay tuned for the inevitable release details, which will likely be within the next few days.
