Sneakerheads Can Start Wearing the Nike Dunk in Grade School
It’s common knowledge that Nike makes many Dunk colourways in family sizing, from toddler all the way up to adults. However, one age/size bracket that the brand seems to be focusing on in coming months is Grade School AKA GS. Perhaps this is to entice smaller footed sneakerheads into dipping between GS and smaller sizes. In any case, two upcoming Dunk releases are blessing the GS wearers with some sweet shades.
One is the ‘Cargo Khaki’, an earthy hue of olive green that was last used on an adult-sized Dunk back in 2017. This time around, it’s been passed down to the slightly smaller category in a one-to-one remake. The simple two-tone execution sees alternating panels of leather rendered in white and ‘Cargo Khaki’, met with tonal nylon tongues, mesh lining and rubber soles.
The other upcoming colourway is ‘University Red’, which evokes strong resemblances to the ‘St Johns’ Dunk from the original ‘Be True To Your School’ marketing campaign from over 35 years ago. Like the ‘Cargo Khaki’, this colourway goes back and forth with white and red, plus complementary accents to match.
The increase in GS Dunks should hopefully mean more people who want Dunks will get Dunks. After all, ‘general release’ should mean just that.
