ASICS Heads Prowled the Sneaker Freaker x atmos GEL-Lyte III ‘Alley Cats’ Pop-Up

This past weekend, our co-collaborators atmos hosted a special pop-up at their Propeller store in Tokyo to launch the latest ASICS GEL-Lyte III ‘Alley Cats’. The keenest cats who came down were among the first in the world to get their paws on the kicks; they were proper ASICS heads too, rocking past and present colabs from the SportStyle catalogue.

The Japanese retailer did up the space in red brick to replicate Melbourne’s masonry found throughout its network of laneways. Posted up on the walls were blown-up excerpts of ASICS historical retrospectives and Sneaker Freaker back issues depicting our previous Tiger-Striped colabs. Things were taken to the next level of nerdery with OG GEL-Lyte models and working sketches on display – there was even an original ‘Don’t just do it’ t-shirt!

Of course, the star of the show was indeed the Sneaker Freaker x atmos GEL-Lyte III ‘Alley Cats’. Besides the SF Shop, this was the only other place to cop a pair this past weekend. And those that made the purchase IRL were also rewarded with the opportunity to pick up an exclusive ‘Alley Cats’ t-shirt not available elsewhere. The eagle-eyed may have also noticed an early sample colourway – nope, it’s not for sale!
