Official campaign imagery has provided a sneak peek of another Casablanca x New Balance XC-72, to follow the colab that emerged earlier this year. While this unveiling fails to show the toe area, you can still get a fairly strong feel for the colour-blocking, with a mustardy tone and red splashed over the top of a solid white base. Exposed foam on the tongue recalls a bygone era, while the clean black outsole adds further contrast – and if previous XC-72 designs are anything to go by, will play a significant role around the forefoot mudguards.
The brainchild of respected New Balance designer Charlotte Lee, the XC-72 rocks a similar design language to the NB 327, which Casablanca teamed-up on with NB last year.
New Balance continue to make strong moves in the colab space this year, following some dominant flexing in 2020. If you’re keen to learn more about NB’s impressive partnerships, make sure you read our interview with their global head of collaborations, Joe Grondin.
An official release date hasn’t been announced for this latest Casablanca x New Balance XC-72, but a launch is expected soon. We’ll keep you posted.
