First Look: A Jimi Hendrix-Inspired Shop Nice Kicks x New Balance 2002R

Shop Nice Kicks x New Balance 2002R

San Fransisco-based Shop Nice Kicks often mine the depths of the Bay Area's thriving counter-culture for footwear inspiration – in the past, they've saluted everything from tie-dye to a famous record store – and now they're nodding to the time Jimi Hendrix spent in San Fransisco and his famous track 'Purple Haze' with a unique New Balance 2002R.

Sources have indicated to Sneaker Freaker that the colab was done in partnership with Hendrix's estate, and it's certainly got plenty of 'Purple Haze' thanks to rich purple suede, mesh and velvet, accented by punchy pops of hot red. There's also smoky tortoiseshell detailing on the midfoot's New Balance logos and even beads on the laces that nod to Hendrix's unique personal style! Though it can't be seen in the photo above, 'Purple' and 'Haze' appear across the shoe's left and right heels.

Currently, a release date for this rockin' Hendrix Shop Nice Kicks x New Balance sneaker has yet to be announced, but hopefully, more info will surface in the coming weeks. Keep it locked here for updates!
