SF Playlist #29: Obscure Obsidian
Let’s get to the obscure side of music with an esoteric Sneaker Freaker Playlist.
DJ Woody, the head honcho at Sneaker Freaker, is back with another sneaker-themed selection of slappers. Fresh off the back of his big bass-heavy Vio-Tech-no mix, and his more low-key Air More Downtempo selection, the SF resident has taken us to the more obscure side of Spotify. Packing the playlist to the absolute max, everyone’s favourite playlist creator has hand-picked 36 songs that are loved by many, but only truly understood by some.
If you’re confused by the first track, then you’re probably not old enough to remember John Carpenter’s Escape From New York. Clams Casino’s ‘Brainwash by London’ is next up, and sends us on a psychedelic trip! If you remember the closing credits of episode 1 of the Sopranos, then Bruce Springsteen’s ‘State Trooper’ may be familiar. Meanwhile, some harder tech has even made it into this batch, with Oliver Huntemann’s 'Nordpol' making us want to boogie. Press that darn shuffle button, and tune-in to this cryptic collection!
Don’t forget to follow Sneaker Freaker on Spotify. We’ll be releasing new playlists each week, with some very special sneaker guests picking the platters that matter in their world. Enjoy!
