Scandinavian adidas Originals Festival!

Scandanavian Adidas Originals Festival 1Scandanavian Adidas Originals Festival 1

Last year, adidas gave us Aussies the chance to create our dream festival with a first prize of partying it up in Berlin. This time it's Scandinavia's turn to win a ticket to Australia to 'go orrrfff!' at the Meredith Music Festival. adidas Originals have created the ultimate interactive online game for music heads which lets you be the boss of your own virtual music festival. Starting with a budget of €100,000 you’re invited to pull together your own dream team festival line-up from a pool of around 200 bands across different genres from electro to rap to rock. Along the way you get to select the venue, name your festival, design a slick promo poster and even book the after-party band or DJ for you and your virtual buds to party with.

Choosing from bands like Bloc Party, LCD Soundsystem, Sonic Youth, The Horrors, Battles, Animal Collective, M.I.A, Peaches, Duran Duran, Slagsmålsklubben, Crystal Castles, MGMT, Lykke Li, Yeasayer, Digitalism, Daft Punk, Black Lips, The White Stripes, Dizzee Rascal, Andrew WK, The Slits, Spank Rock, and Sigur Ros, your neck is on the line to get the best turn-out (i.e. the most number of visits in the game) for your festival and try to snatch the first prize of a trip for you and a friend to Australia and Melbourne’s Meredith music festival, including flights and accommodation.

Each band has a different asking price to get on your line-up, so you can choose to blow your budget on a big headliner to bring in the masses or spend your budget with more up-and-coming acts for the dedicated connoisseurs. To drive attendance to your festival you can send your line up to your friends via email or online by posting on your MySpace page or blog, a classic phone call, or even a letter in the post. As long as they go to the site and 'show up' at your festival you are one step closer to skipping the Scandinavian winter and partying in the land down under. There will also be prizes for best and worst designed promo posters. Festivals created by various people in the music industry will be showcased on the game’s homepage which up and running now. The competition runs until November 7th, with the winning festival announced the following week. Go to www.originalsfestival.com to play the Adidas Originals festival game.
