Russell Westbrook  just made history. Capping off a season as the first player to average triple doubles every game since Oscar Roberts in 1962, Westbrook has signed the biggest deal a Jordan Brand athlete has ever inked. ESPN reports that Westbrook has increased his five-year contract with the Jumpman by an unprecedented 10 years – a merger that will link him with the subsidiary for the rest of his career and paint him as the player that the next generation associates with the brand.

Included is Westbrook’s first on-court signature shoe, which will follow his range with a look that's thought to take the Jordans in a new direction.

Financial details haven’t been announced, but it’s safe to assume Westbrook pocketed enough to bankroll high-fashion fits for the rest of his life. Basketball sales have been in notorious decline of late, and Westbrook’s recent success will have given him a handy amount of bargaining power.
